At the 2026 Convention, we came together around one of the principles that has sustained La Sociedad for generations: unity.
Our founders understood something that remains true today: strength comes when people choose to stand together.
They built the Sociedad Protección Mutua de Trabajadores Unidos on the principle of mutual protection, where each member had value, each member had a voice, and each member mattered. At the heart of La Sociedad was a simple but powerful belief: dignity should never depend upon wealth, position, or influence.
Over the past several years, we have seen what is possible when we come together around a shared purpose. Together, we restored our historic home and helped build new momentum throughout our Society.
Now our responsibility is to carry that momentum forward.
At this year’s Convention, delegates elected a new slate of officers who will help lead La Sociedad into its next chapter. We congratulate them and thank all those who have accepted the responsibility of serving our members and carrying forward the principles upon which our Society was founded.
For more than a century, generations of members have built and strengthened La Sociedad. Together, we will continue building on their legacy and shaping its future.
